The Australian Museum. Truly a fascinating experience

Established in 1827 as Australia's first museum, the Australian Museum of Sydney makes one of the finest museums in Australia. Even though it is behind the world giants such as the British Museum of London and Louvre of Paris in terms of scale and presentation, the Australian Museum has earned international reputation in the fields of natural history and indigenous research. The Museum houses the one of the world's finest collections of minerals. Apart from its permeant exhibitions : insects, birds, skeletons - museum presents several temporary exhibitions at any given time. Currently running are Frank Hurley: Journey into Papua (a documentary photography exhibition), Life on the Darling, Up Close and Spineless (nature photography exhibition), Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 (owned by Natural History Museum of London and BBC Wildlife Magazine). The Museum is truly a fascinating experience for Milith, Ruchinda, Amnda, Nilvala and I.
